There are currently hundreds of mattress manufacturers that use marketing gimmicks to sell you on the “benefits” of layered foam mattresses.
In reality, these mattresses use outdated technology. Regular sheet foam dates back to the 1930s, and NASA originally designed memory foam strictly for rocket seats in the 1960s. In the 1990s, memory foam became widely embraced for its use in bedding. As innovative as these mattresses once were, here’s why they’re no longer advantageous:
Poor Support
Layered foam mattresses cannot adjust to the natural curves of the spine, and fail to provide the appropriate firmness for a healthy back.
Poor Airflow
Layered foam restricts air circulation causing disruptive, hot and sweaty sleep.
Poor Hygiene
Sleeping sweaty nurtures dust mites, fungus, and bacteria that exposes you to numerous health risks such as allergies and asthma.
If you’re currently sleeping on a layered foam mattress, these negatives are all too familiar. It's time for a new mattress...
